Event Date: March 18, 2010

Morristown High School Project Graduation Fashion Show will be held on March 18, 2010. The Morristown High School Project Graduation Committee holds this fashion show and tricky tray evening each year to provide an alcohol and drug free evening for all seniors on the night of graduation.

The fashion show is organized and put together by parents committed to ensuring the safety of the senior class while the fashions of the evening are worn by outstanding seniors. In order to be considered as a member of the runway, each senior much adhere to certain criteria. They must sign a Morristown High School code on conduct being drug and alcohol free and examples of good citizens. They must also achieve a 3.2 GPA and almost all the parents are helpful and involved in the planning and organizing of the event. While walking down the runway each seniors achievements are recognized as well as describing the i do ... i do... gowns they are wearing.

i do... i do... is extremely proud of our local teens and thrilled to be a part of their special evening!

After much anticipation i do… i do… is now open for business! Located at 35 South Street, Morristown, NJ, just off the green.

The official Grand Opening party, a by-invitation-only affair, was held on the evening of Friday Feb 12^th beginning at 6:00 PM. Guests were treated to wine, champagne, signature cocktails and hors’dourves. Informal modeling and image consultants were on hand to answer any questions and highlighted the new collections.

This afternoon, celebrity wedding planner David Tutera paid a visit to i do, i do (35 South Street; 973-998-6215), Morristown's chic new bridal salon. And I was lucky enough to capture it on my video cam.

Although David is primarily known for his event planning and hit television

show, "My Fair Wedding," he's quickly establishing his new line of luxurious wedding gowns called David Tutera by Faviana.

"Inspired by the red carpet, worn on the white carpet" is the signature of this recently introduced collection for brides who want a little celebrity-style glam on their big day. Gowns are available in sizes 0 to 24 at accessible prices.

Alterations are handled by our master seamstress trained in Couture tailoring. Each fitting will be customized to each brides specifications and needs with the utmost attention to detail. All our brides leave our studio with their gown having designer fit from head to toe. i do... i do... goes above and beyond to ensure that our brides vision of perfection is met for a wedding of a life time.

Customize Antique Gown:

i do... i do... can customize a gown of your desire... an antique family heirloom for example to continue the family tradition or simply incorporate a part of it into your very own signature style.

Recycle your wedding gown after the big day. Perhaps make it into a special keepsake for your children, turn it into a bassinet, layette or a gown for your daughters communion or preserve it for your daughter. We can help you to fulfill and execute your vision.

Veils:

i do... i do... can help you to create a customized veil that showcases your gowns style. i do... i do... veils are always made to order by hand. Our brides will have a beautiful selection of head pieces and veils from which to create one of a kind masterpieces to enhance the entire look. Headpieces can even be customized by our very own designer utilizing crystals, flowers, ribbons, feathers, fur... We will work with you to make your head piece spectacular. It is our pleasure to make recommendations from which you can choose if you wish. Just let us know and we will make it happen for your special day.

Are appointments needed to try on wedding gowns?

While an appointment is not necessary and walk-ins are welcome we want to be able to give you our full attention and focus on your every need.

To make this the best experience for you we recommend you schedule a private consultation.

How much time will my first appointment take?

We suggest that you allow at least 1½ hours. We want you to be relaxed and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed.

Who should accompany me to my appointment?

Your first visit is best with one or two close friends or family members who’s taste level and opinion you value. Once you have made a decision we encourage you to return with your entire bridal party to show off your gown, shop for accessories, and celebrate at your first fitting.

What should I bring with me to the appointment?

Pictures are always helpful to our staff to get an idea of the style that suits your image. We have both shoes and foundations for you to try on with the gowns.

May I take pictures of the gowns I try on?

Yes of course we not only encourage it, but also will do it for you and e-mail them to you within 24 hours of your visit.

How far in advance should I order my gown?

While it takes about 4 months till your custom gown is delivered to our studio we want you to have plenty of time for fittings and alterations. We recommend not to wait longer then 6 months before your wedding day. Custom made veils and accessories have a lead-time of 2 months.

What are the price ranges of your gowns?

All special order gowns start at $1,200, but the majority of our collections are in the $1,500 to $2,500 range. Discontinued samples can be much less, but in limited styles and sizes.

How do I pay for my gown?

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard as well as cash and personal checks are accepted for a deposit, but not a final payment.

When special ordering a 50% deposit is required, when you gown arrives at i do… I do… we will call you to schedule a fitting at that time the remaining 50% is required. Alterations can be paid the day you take your dress home.

How many times will fittings be needed?

A gown usually needs to be fit 2-3 times before it is tailored to the perfectly. Once we believe it is flawless your dress will be presented to you packaged and pressed for you to take home.

What will I need for my first fitting?

In order to fit your gown you must have the undergarments and shoes you will be wearing on your wedding day. If you are not sure of the correct foundation please let us know. We will assist you in making the selection and having them available the day of your first fitting.

Laura is spearheading a "Don't Elope!" campaign--she runs the My Bellissimawedding service a few blocks away--and she predicted the new studio will help her cause.

"Women will come here from all over," Laura said. "Every bride wants to feel like she is the only one getting married. They want a one-to-one experience. This is for the luxury bride. This is upscale."

I do, i do is a joint venture of Patricia Lipper and Leia Harley, longtime friends and colleagues in the fashion industry.

They will sell bridal gowns ranging from $1,200 to $4,000, and accessories. On Feb. 25, they will participate in Here Comes the Bride, a local bridal show at the Hyatt Morristown.

"I had high expectations. This has surpassed my expectations," Susan Brierly, style editor of New Jersey Bride magazine, said of the spacious, tastefully appointed studio. "This is extraordinary."

Susan said the wedding business is more insulated from economic downturns than most industries.

"Girls always get married," she said. "They always want dream weddings."

Although the recession has thinned some bridal parties, New Jersey weddings still typically cost in the neighborhood of $50,000 and $55,000, said Kara Thorson, co-owner of My Bellissima.

Enjoying the scene Friday were Shannon Boyd of Jackson and Katie Van Rensalier, who became model brides for the evening by responding to an online ad.

For Katie, a recent Rutgers grad who has performed at Madison's Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, the event was like a dress rehearsal for her impending nuptials.

Shannon was keeping her eyes open. She has made one trip to the altar, and has not ruled out another.

"I'm looking for Mr. Right," she said, flashing a bright smile. "Everyone deserves to be happy!"

That popping sound you're likely to hear this weekend will be the sound of questions, as in: "Will you marry me?"

Which should be music to the ears of Patricia Lipper and Leia Marley, who are opening a new bridal studio in Morristown today, just in time for Valentine's Day.

"It's the big engagement holiday. We're going to get business right away!" promised Patricia, co-owner of i do, i do on South Street.

For years they worked together in the fashion industry: Leia in design, Patricia in merchandising.The studio will specialize in bridal gowns costing $1,200 to $4,000, and also will carry shoes, designer jewelry, handbags and other accessories.

If bridesmaids don't find dresses that suit them, Patricia said she will cheerfully send them across the street to Nonchalance.

That same spirit of cooperation will be on display at Here Comes the Bride, a bridal show at the Hyatt Morristown on Feb. 25. Sponsored by the Morristown Partnership, the show will showcase numerous local shops connected to the business of matrimony.

Kevin CoughlinNonchalance has been selling bridesmaid dresses in Morristown for nearly 17 years."We're all trying to work together to help the town," said Kristin Taylor, who opened Nonchalance almost 17 years ago. "Wedding shops are a destination. We bring people into town who also may shop for other things."

While weddings have gotten smaller during the recession, "people are still getting married," Kristin said.

"You adapt, you change, you try to get creative," she said. "I don't have any big complaints, compared to the rest of the world. But you work harder during times like these."

It never hurts to be versatile. On March 3, wedding planner Laura Bianco of My Bellissima will sing at the Community Theatre in the Morristown's Got Talent competition. (Video preview.)

A few days later, Laura will march down the aisle herself.

Patricia and Leia, longtime friends and co-workers in the fashion industry, have been down that aisle before, and will welcome repeat customers to i do, i do.

They also will have a large flat-screen TV for romantic movies--though fathers-of-the-brides may be permitted to watch sports, said Patricia, a Bernardsville resident.

Models at Morristown High School's Project Graduation fashion show will wear dresses from i d, i do on March 18, she said.

Patricia had hoped to open the studio last fall, but the economy posed some challenges. She is undaunted.

"I am so excited, I can't sleep," she said. "I just want to open the doors. I'm not even nervous. I'm just excited. It's like a dream. It's something I've always wanted to do. It's finally happened."
